How Often Should I Get a Chemical Peel?
Are you interested in undergoing a chemical peel treatment, but not sure how often you can get it done?
We’ve got the answers you’ve been looking for. Take a look at how often you can get a chemical peel, including recommendations based on the type of peel you select.
What’s the Right Chemical Peel Schedule?
1. Light Peel Recommendations.
A light chemical peel is usually made of salicylic acid or a fruit acid. This peel is designed to treat mild complexion issues, like dry skin, uneven skin texture, mild acne scars, and more. Light peels are a great addition to any skin care routine, and can usually be done every month for best results.
2. Medium Peel Recommendations.
A medium peel is a great solution for clients with more moderate complexion issues, like fine lines and wrinkles, slight hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and more. Medium peels are – as the name suggests – stronger than light peels, which is why we recommend that clients get them every three to five months.
Medium peels usually use glycolic acid to achieve their results.
3. Deep Peel Recommendations.
A deep chemical peel might be what you imagine when you think of chemical peels. This is the one where your skin may scab over for a week or two after the peel, so we usually recommend doing it when you can take time off from work and social obligations. A deep chemical peel should only be done once every few years, but it can deliver truly great results for patients who want to treat:
Moderate wrinkles and lines
Excessive hyperpigmentation
Uneven skin texture
Age spots
And more
